There are a few options when it comes to the engine on the Elantra. For instance, the SE, SEL, Value Edition, and Limited trims offer a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 147 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque. The SE receives a six-speed manual transmission, but drivers can select a six-speed automatic transmission instead. A turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 128 hp and 156 lb-ft of torque is provided with the Eco. It comes paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Lastly, there’s a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. It comes with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed automatic transmission.
