Hyundai Elantra Is In A Class By Itself

“Wow – that’s a Hyundai?” Those very words might come out of your mouth when you first lay eyes on the Hyundai Elantra. Compact sedans aren’t often known for sporting cutting-edge style, but the Elantra is the exception to the rule. Everything about the Elantra communicates high-class. Everything, that is, except the price. You read that correctly. Just like all the other Hyundai models, the Elantra is a clear winner in the value price category. Your next assumption based on that value price is probably going to be that the Elantra comes up short on features. Nothing could be further from the truth.

In fact, the Hyundai Elantra has made a name for itself in the automotive world by offering a huge amount of features as standard equipment. These are the kinds of premium features that the competition vehicles normally make you pay extra to get. (We’re looking at you Toyota and Honda). When you add in one of the best powertrain warranties in the industry, the choice becomes a no-brainer. The Hyundai Elantra should be at the beginning and end of your consideration list for compact cars.

2023 Hyundai Elantra Interior

What’s New On The 2023 Hyundai Elantra?

Hyundai introduced the seventh generation of its best-selling Elantra series three years ago. The 2023 Hyundai Elantra is still part of the current generation and has minimal overall changes this year. The 2023 Elantra’s cutting-edge interior still matches the exterior's clean lines. The SEL trim’s optional Convenience package now includes a pair of 10.3-inch screens, one dedicated to the driver and the other to the infotainment system, as well as new 17-inch wheels. The N Line and Limited will also begin including these as standard. In addition, Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® transition from wireless to wired operation. The N Line trim also has a unique aerodynamic makeover, but the manual transmission option is no longer available with this trim.

The History Of The Hyundai Elantra

The Hyundai Elantra was introduced to the North American market in 1992. The first iteration of the vehicle was a four door compact sedan with a focus on fuel efficiency and value pricing. The Elantra was updated in 1995 to be wider and restyled with a rounder appearance than the previous model.

In 1998, Hyundai released a new Elantra with a choice of four door sedan or wagon configurations. Engine power was also increased in the car courtesy of a 1.8L four-cylinder engine under the hood that was capable of generating 130 horsepower.

In 2001, Hyundai released a dramatically redesigned and restyled Elantra. This also marked the beginning of an effort to steadily increase standard equipment in the car over the subsequent years. Hyundai began including many options on the Elantra as standard equipment that other automakers charged extra for on their comparable vehicles. This increased value proposition along with steady increases in quality ratings began to increase Elantra sales (along with the rest of the Hyundai lineup.)

An all-new Elantra model was released by Hyundai in 2007. This Elantra featured more interior space than previous generations of the vehicle and even more standard features. Hyundai would add minor enhancements and modifications to the Elantra over the next few years until 2017, when the next generation of the vehicle was released.
